Affordable Housing

Housing is a human right. As a community we must work together to make affordable housing accessible for ALL and that includes helping our unhoused neighbors. Some suggested remedies are strengthening tenant protections, housing vouchers + low-income programs, building partnerships with developers to prioritize more affordable housing, providing financial relief + resources for homeowners that are struggling, education and down-payment assistance for first-time buyers, especially first generation home buyers. I will fight to ensure folks can stay in their homes, whether they rent or own.

Workers’ Rights

Workers keep our economy running whether they’re picking the food we find in our grocery stores, taking care of us during medical appointments or emergencies, or building and maintaining our infrastructure like our roads, facilities, and homes. I will fight to protect workers and their rights including but not limited to: livable wages, fair contracts, benefits, safe working conditions free of discrimination, job security, and so on. And I will do so regardless of their immigration status.

K-12 Funding and Education

For our community to thrive, we must invest in every aspect of a child's education. Early childhood education lays the foundation for lifelong success. Universal childcare ensures that ALL families, regardless of their economic status, have access to quality learning environments, which is essential for closing educational gaps and fostering equality. Moreover, culturally relevant curriculums help all students see themselves in what they learn, promoting engagement and respect for diversity. I will fight to ensure we fully fund our schools, increase oversight to make sure that money is spent where it’s needed most, and ensure the many positions that support our kids and schools earn living wages.

We are facing a healthcare crisis due to rising costs, staffing shortages, and language barriers in our local communities that needs to be addressed. As your representative, I will work to create more healthcare jobs so we can meet the needs of our community right here at home.

We are ALL deserving of more than just fighting to survive. We deserve to truly live and thrive. I will tackle public health issues including addiction, substance abuse, mental illness, domestic violence and gun violence to secure a bright future for our children and families. I will work to ensure our neighborhoods are safe and healthy for everyone.

Preserving Our Natural Resources

Central Washington has a long history of dealing with the overexploitation of our natural wealth. Big Ag and other corporations continue to choose profit over people and our communities are left with contaminated water, extreme temperatures, yearly wildfires, and exposure to unhealthy air quality. I will fight to protect our land, water, and air and hold those responsible accountable. Our future generations deserve to have a livable and healthy planet.
